The volume is basically a layout of the Gilt Dawn system of ceremonial magick, with some pretty lazy and poorly written commentary about various opinions the author holds on a variety of subjects. The GD material is presented in a kind of workbook style, similar to other books of the type; it presents goose egg special and is basically simply an explanation of what is independent in the Regardie material published in the 70s. I diligently approached the material,and later a couple of months contacted The book is basically a layout of the Golden Dawn system of formalism magick, with some pretty lazy and poorly written commentary virtually various opinions the author holds on a variety of subjects. The GD material is presented in a kind of workbook style, similar to other books of the type; it presents nothing special and is basically just an explanation of what is contained in the Regardie cloth published in the 70s. At first the substitution seemed alright, just soon after the initial contact I began noticing links to Left Hand Path sites on his page, and the conversations he was having on the page had a very negative tone-- he talked about the importance of developing what he called "the killer instinct," earlier one developed pity, for case. I wasn't certain what he was referring to but as I had been drawn to the material out of an interest in studying White magick, I decided to end the contact and discontinue work with the book. I have since come up to understand clearly why the book, written for what Cristopher calls. "the solitary practitioner," is targeting people who are new to the study of occultism, every bit they more often than not take few contacts with others who might be able to help them bargain with what amounts to psychic attack. After I disconnected on Facebook I found myself dealing with a number of miracle that are best described in Dion Fortune'south excellent book, Psychic Cocky Defense, as the symptoms of an occult assail. I later on researched Mr. Christopher's "credentials" and the only online reference I could notice to the "Ra Horakhty" Temple was a Facebook folio that hadn't been updated in several years and that had 72 likes. It has taken me the amend function of a yr to extricate myself from the harrassment that ensued after I blocked the author on Facebook and I would warn ANYONE who is not interested in the magick of the Left Hand Path to avert this book, and the author, as if their well being depended on it. It was merely through not bad effort and the aid of several spiritual healers where I live that I have been able to successfully bargain with the consequence incurred by choosing this item book every bit a source of learning material for the Holy Kaballah. The volume aimed to renew the GD teachings and tried to explicate blind spots of it. It also seems more organised in a mode with some checklist for those who want to initiate themselves (no thing how organised a magickal book, a learner even so needs a teacher anyhow) he also refers to bible verses with dissimilar interprations aligned with the purpose of this teaching. This book can be adept to read with other GD materials, I would non advise only to read it and exercise direct.

Lyam lays it out for yous in the pages...and by the time you're done reading, you take a grand view of the whole spiritual procedure. And you're faced with the choice of whether or not to get downwardly the road that this book offers. The haunting thing is that this is nothing new to anyone in the west. We've all known all along that the road was there.
Lyam's arroyo is grand, but it'southward non in the least bit overwhelming. The book is 1000 in telescopic, only thankfully piecemeal and step-by-step.
I thought I knew what magic was. I've read a lot. I know a lot. Simply in this book the details come together differently. I realize that I've learned almost nothing...even so.
